Arcosa Traffic Structures is a leading manufacturer of structural steel product for the DOT market. We are an AWS and AISC certified fabricator of overhead steel and aluminum sign structures, tolling gantry structures, mono tube sign and signal structures, signal mast arm poles, strain poles, high mast lighting poles, bridge mounts, multi-post beams, sign arms, and all types of miscellaneous steel fabrication. This position requires a highly detail-oriented and analytical mindset, with the ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously while maintaining precision. You will collaborate cross-functionally and play a key role in supporting sales by delivering clear, defensible, and competitive estimates.
What You'll Do:
  • Interpret technical drawings, contracts, and customer specifications to develop accurate cost estimates
  • Analyze BOMs and apply formulas to determine labor hours and material costs
  • Prioritize and manage multiple estimating requests to meet required deadlines
  • Input and validate costing data within the estimating/manufacturing system (e.g., Jobscope)
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, purchasing, and sales teams to ensure estimate accuracy
  • Participate in sales and project discussions to clarify requirements and support estimate rationale
  • Review and validate estimate outputs for accuracy and completeness
  • Identify opportunities to improve estimating methods, formulas, and efficiency
  • Provide feedback to sales and internal teams regarding cost drivers and potential risks
  • Maintain a high level of attention to detail across all estimates and documentation
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field and/or relevant estimating or manufacturing experience
  • Experience with steel fabrication, manufacturing, or similar industrial environments preferred
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents
  • Proficiency working with BOMs, costing models, and estimating systems
  • Analytical mindset with working knowledge of geometry, trigonometry, and cost modeling
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Jobscope) preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage shifting priorities and high-volume requests
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform essential job functions in accordance with ADA, FMLA, and applicable standards
  • Regular, reliable attendance required
  • Ability to work in an office environment
