Location: Aiken, SC (Onsite at SRS)
Duration: 1 Year Contract with Two 1-Year Option Periods
Estimated Pay Rate: $88.00/hr with a standard benefits package

Job Description

EGS is seeking a Senior Business Analyst - Estimating to support project estimating and cost analysis activities at the Savannah River Site in Aiken, SC. This position is responsible for organizing, developing, analyzing, and maintaining estimating and project controls applications required to support cost and schedule management for complex engineering and construction projects.

Under limited supervision, the selected candidate will coordinate and support estimating activities including conceptual estimating, quantity take-offs, labor and material estimating, work breakdown structures, estimate analysis, and estimating database maintenance.

This position requires strong construction and engineering estimating experience, the ability to interpret design drawings, and the capability to support multi-discipline project teams in a DOE or industrial environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop conceptual and detailed cost estimates for projects with varying levels of design completion
  • Support development of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and project coding structures
  • Participate in development of estimate basis documentation
  • Identify incomplete design definitions and omissions within engineering and scope documents
  • Develop quantity estimates and material take-offs from engineering drawings
  • Utilize parametric estimating techniques for undefined scope
  • Coordinate estimating information between Engineering, Purchasing, and Construction organizations
  • Develop labor, material, and subcontract estimates
  • Support development and maintenance of estimating databases
  • Perform trend analysis and evaluate estimating data for recommended database updates
  • Prepare discipline change order estimates and estimate analyses
  • Develop and maintain estimating schedules at the project and control account levels
  • Present estimate information and recommendations to management and customers
  • Support project controls, cost management, and estimating system maintenance

Required QualificationsEducation and Experience

One of the following combinations is required:

  • Master's degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, Technical discipline, or related field with 2 years of practical experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, Technical discipline, or related field with 5 years of practical experience
  • Associate's degree with 8 years of practical experience
  • High School Diploma/GED with 12 years of relevant experience
Required Skills and Experience
  • Construction, engineering, or estimating experience
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering/design drawings
  • Experience generating material take-offs from multi-discipline design drawings
  • Strong understanding of construction techniques, labor, and equipment requirements
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and Word
  • Strong computer proficiency with estimating and cost management systems
  • Working knowledge of project management and cost/schedule control principles
  • Ability to quantify work condition impacts on project costs
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Success estimating software
  • Previous DOE or nuclear project experience
  • Active DOE L or Q Clearance within the past two years preferred
Security Requirements
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Clearance
  • Active DOE L Clearance required to start
  • Subcontractor must maintain active eFOCI registration and approved Facility Clearance
Work Schedule

Standard 40-hour work week. Various schedules may be utilized including:

  • 5/8 schedule
  • 4/10 schedule
  • 9/80 schedule

Overtime may be required based on project needs.
