Job description

DataField Technology Services is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Estimating Coordinator for a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity with our client. In this role, you will manage cost data, generate accurate estimates, support sales staff, and help ensure projects are completed within budget and profit goals. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys both analytical and collaborative work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:Cost Data Management
  • Manage and maintain cost data for installation projects.
  • Determine project costs, duration, and revenue projections.

Project Estimation
  • Estimate equipment, manpower, project costs, and materials required for each project.

Site Visits
  • Conduct periodic site visits to gather data and ensure pricing accuracy.

Collaboration
  • Work closely with the Supply Chain Analyst to review and analyze job-costing data.

Market Evaluation
  • Regularly evaluate market conditions to help maximize company margins.

Sales Support
  • Support sales staff by:
  • Ensuring final quotes reflect all project requirements.
  • Providing competitive pricing to customers.
  • Addressing feasibility concerns related to customer quotes.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned.

Performance Measurements:
  • Quote Accuracy & Timeliness: Deliver accurate, on-time quotes to support the sales process.
  • Project Profitability: Ensure project estimates align with profitability goals.
  • Relationship Building: Foster strong working relationships with sales and operations teams.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement enhancements to estimation and quoting procedures.

Qualifications:
  • 3 to 5 years of proven experience in estimating or project coordination preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly with Excel; experience with estimating software a plus.
  • Ability to conduct site visits and work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
