What is an ESG coordinator?

ESG Coordinators are professionals responsible for managing and overseeing an organization's environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives. They help develop and implement strategies to improve sustainability, ensure compliance with regulations, and enhance corporate responsibility. ESG Coordinators often collaborate with various departments to collect data, monitor progress, and report on ESG performance to stakeholders. Their work supports the organization's commitment to ethical practices and long-term value creation.

How does an ESG coordinator typically collaborate with different departments to drive sustainability initiatives?

As an ESG Coordinator, you will regularly work with teams across the organization—including operations, legal, HR, and communications—to ensure that environmental, social, and governance goals are integrated into daily business practices. This collaboration often involves coordinating data collection for reporting, supporting the rollout of new policies, and facilitating training sessions to increase awareness of ESG principles. Building strong relationships and promoting open communication are essential to identify opportunities, address challenges, and align corporate strategy with sustainability targets.
