Description
Oneida General Mechanical Corporation (GMC) is actively seeking a highly motivated, full-time Senior Construction Project Manager in East Central Florida.
Responsible for the safe completion of the project(s) within budget, on schedule, within the Company's quality standards, and to the customer's satisfaction. The duties include leading the project team on all aspects of the project, including schedule, budget, risk mitigation, safety, and quality control. The Project Manager's duties include initiating action and managing the activities of the project to mitigate risk and to achieve successful project completion.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and direct project execution to meet schedule, budget, and scope requirements.
  • Develop technical approaches for project proposals, including scope gap evaluations, WBS development and task sequencing, and identification of resources.
  • Integrate safety and quality standards into all phases of project planning and execution.
  • Assign responsibilities, set goals, and establish clear authority across project teams.
  • Lead and coordinate project personnel to ensure on-time and within-budget performance.
  • Monitor progress, produce regular status reports, and adjust schedules and plans as needed.
  • Analyze cost and schedule variances; implement corrective actions to maintain project performance.
  • Manage contracts, change orders, and related documentation.
  • Identify and manage risk, provide technical guidance, and resolve project-related issues.
  • Address and resolve conflicts among staff, clients, and subcontractors professionally.
  • Ensure timely processing of submittals, invoicing, and progress payments.
  • Coordinate with regulatory and government agencies to maintain compliance.
  • Oversee team performance and supervisory responsibilities in line with company policies and applicable laws.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum ten years of experience in project management with a demonstrated track record of success. Emphasis on management of costs, schedule, communication, and application of other project resources on construction projects.
  • Federal client experience, with a focus on U.S. Navy, Air Force, or NASA projects
  • Strong computer skills are a must. Position requires creation and updating of project files, direct interaction with corporate accounting systems, client management systems, and project delivery software. Competent in using Microsoft Office products, email systems, and Primavera scheduling software.
  • Ability to understand and interpret building designs, schematics, remedial design drawings, demolition plans, and specifications.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from project stakeholders, comprised of federal and local government agencies, regulators, clients, local community groups, and local subcontractors' contractors.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to develop subcontractor scopes of work.
  • Ability to develop, maintain, and effectively communicate project schedules.
  • Capable of communicating effectively and exercising effective negotiation techniques as needed
  • Ability to form strong relationships with management, clients, and subcontractors

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience executing projects with a value of $10 million or greater
  • Firm-fixed-price project experience

Travel:
  • Must be able and willing to work on-site at the project location with periodic travel home with project management approval.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, or construction management.
  • Degrees in business will also be considered with experience in construction.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for this requirement.

Compensation: $130,000- $160,000/Annually + Benefits
