Job description

J.C. BAR Properties, Inc. is an innovative commercial real estate development and property management company in the Mid-Atlantic Region boasting a management portfolio of nearly 30 retail centers, totaling nearly 4 million square feet of retail properties and more than $1 Billion in development experience. This full-time position is responsible for assisting the Controller.

Responsibilities

· Assist Controller to maintain the general ledger and balance sheet to ensure company assets are generating positive cash flow and in good standing

· Review and reconcile property income and expenses and bring any discrepancies, problems, or questions to Controller and Property Manager

· Interpret commercial leases and enter key data into integrative property management/accounting software

· Preparation and assistance of month-end statements, rent collection, account reconciliations, and financial statement analysis

· Assist with annual budgeting process including mid-year projections

· Manage commission tracking through YARDI to allocate payments to Agents, prepare invoices and collect outstanding balances

· Prepare monthly reports for Agents on future and outstanding receivables

· Ability to establish priorities and meet tight deadlines while working in a small, team-oriented environment

Qualifications

· A minimum of 2 years’ experience in real estate, private equity or fund accounting

· Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in accounting, finance or related field required

· Proficient experience with Yardi or similar Property Management software, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel

· Strong communication, analytical skills, attention to detail and organization to work effectively on a team and support various accounting needs

· Capability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to multi-task

· Strong organizational and communication skills, including writing, reporting and research

· Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future
