An Epic Team Lead is a professional responsible for overseeing a team that implements and manages Epic Systems, a popular electronic health record (EHR) software used in healthcare organizations. This role involves coordinating team activities, ensuring successful deployment or maintenance of Epic modules, and acting as a liaison between technical staff, clinical users, and management. Epic Team Leads are also responsible for project planning, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring adherence to best practices and regulatory requirements. They often have a background in healthcare IT and strong leadership skills.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Epic Team Lead?

To thrive as an Epic Team Lead, you need deep knowledge of the Epic electronic health record (EHR) system, experience in healthcare IT, and often a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Epic certification in specific modules, familiarity with project management tools like Jira or MS Project, and experience with system implementations are typically required.
