Registered Nurse Job Requirements
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Minimum of 2 years of pediatric acute care or pediatric med-surg experience within the last 3 years
  • BLS and PALS certification required (AHA only)
  • Epic experience required
  • Ability to pass a telemetry exam prior to start
  • Experience with pediatric stepdown, intermediate care, or mixed-acuity patient populations preferred
  • Comfort working rotating shifts, weekends, and a travel nurse schedule
  • Willingness to float as needed
Pediatric Cardiac Stepdown Responsibilities
  • Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care for pediatric patients with a range of acuity levels
  • Monitor telemetry and identify significant cardiac rhythms and changes in patient status
  • Support patients with respiratory needs including CPAP, BiPAP, tracheostomy care, and ventilator dependence
  • Care for pediatric patients with neuro, diabetic, nephrology, spinal fusion, and other medical/surgical needs
  • Administer medications, manage IV therapy, and assist with blood and blood product administration
  • Perform thorough patient assessments, implement care plans, and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members
  • Promote safe, family-centered care in a fast-paced pediatric stepdown environment
