Job Summary
The Epic Hospital Billing (HB) Analyst is responsible for the design, build, implementation, and maintenance of the Epic Hospital Billing application. This role partners with revenue cycle, finance, and clinical stakeholders to optimize billing workflows, ensure accurate charge capture, enhance reimbursement, and maintain regulatory compliance.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Build, configure, test, and maintain Epic Hospital Billing module; Analyze workflows and design system improvements; Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into system configurations; Support implementations, upgrades, testing, and go-live activities; Perform system audits for compliance; Troubleshoot and resolve system issues; Develop and maintain documentation including workflows and training materials; Provide on-call or after-hours support as needed; Participate in cross-functional teams and projects; Serve as liaison between IT and revenue cycle teams; Monitor system performance and data integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
Epic Hospital Billing certification or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire; Minimum 2 years of experience with hospital billing, insurance payers, or coding; Knowledge of CMS regulations and payer requirements; Strong understanding of revenue cycle operations.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Epic HB or other Epic modules; Previous EHR implementation or optimization experience; Experience supporting Epic Professional Billing or similar systems.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint); Strong attention to detail; Ability to work independently and collaboratively; Ability to handle sensitive information; Strong time management and prioritization; Analytical and problem-solving skills; Excellent verbal and written communication.
Working Conditions
Primarily computer-based work onsite; Occasional evening or weekend work; May lift up to 15 pounds; Frequent interaction with clinical and operational staff and external partners.
