Job description

The Senior Epic Business Analyst serves as the subject matter expert for their assigned Epic application, partnering with clinical and operational leaders to translate business needs into scalable, effective workflows and solutions. The role leads advanced troubleshooting, drives implementations and upgrades, and ensures ongoing system stability, performance, and continuous optimization.
This position is funded through September 2028 with the potential for extension.

  • Submits and resolves issues in accordance with DFCI issue management processes
  • Serves as the liaison to PeC for supported business area and participates in PeC BA meetings
  • The Business Analyst may also be asked to lead small to medium projects that cross over multiple teams within the organization.
  • Use higher level of experience and the grasp of the “big picture” to handle more complex tasks
  • Provides guidance/training to the Associate Business Analyst
  • Recommends decisions / solutions to team and Business Analyst Manager to present to PeC
  • Participates in vendor and user conferences as directed
  • Same responsibilities as Business Analyst Plus:
  • Participate in developing and managing project plans for new applications and/or major upgrades/enhancements
  • Plan and conduct user acceptance testing of complex functionality, upgrades and fixes
  • Assist in the guidance/training of Associate and Business Analysts
  • Research, coordinate and complete special projects as necessary
  • Works with other DFCI and PeC teams to research issues and develop solutions including assessing impacts to other areas
  • Maintain and promote “best practices” procedures, which follow the business unit’s framework, that guide how applications are supported, configured, upgraded, tested and used
  • Provide backup support as necessary for key business operational responsibilities
  • Manages implementation of decisions / solutions with team
  • Support Credentialed Training activities as needed

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Detailed experience and knowledge of the business unit being supported
  • Experience maintaining relationships with internal and external customers
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

The position prefers a Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, or Healthcare, or a minimum of 5 years of related work experience. Candidates must have at least 5 years of relevant experience, including revenue cycle experience with healthcare finance systems. Proficiency in PC applications such as Microsoft Office and Visio is required, along with a strong understanding of workflows relevant to the supported business team. Experience in developing and integrating business processes is essential. Epic certification(s) are preferred or must be obtained as per program requirements.
