Commercial Lines Customer Service Representative - Family-Owned Independent Insurance Agency - Base Salary to 90k/year - Fairfield, NJ

  • Our client, a well-established independent insurance agency, is seeking an experienced Commercial Lines Customer Service Representative to join its growing team in Fairfield, NJ. This hybrid opportunity offers the chance to support a collaborative team while servicing a diverse commercial insurance client base.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to a team of Commercial Lines Account Managers servicing a general book of commercial insurance accounts.
  • Respond to client inquiries regarding commercial insurance coverages, claims, policy changes, endorsements, renewals, and policy updates.
  • Market and remarket commercial insurance accounts with annual premiums ranging from $10,000 to $80,000 by working with insurance carriers to obtain competitive coverage and pricing.
  • Prepare insurance quotes, perform rating, and assist with underwriting submissions.
  • Issue certificates of insurance, evidence of insurance, auto ID cards, and related policy documentation.
  • Process policy changes, endorsements, renewals, and other servicing requests while ensuring accuracy and timely follow-up.
  • Resolve customer service issues and maintain strong relationships with clients and carrier partners.
  • Utilize Applied EPIC agency management system to manage client accounts, documentation, and policy activity.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Commercial Lines Customer Service Representative, Commercial Lines Account Manager Assistant, or Commercial Lines Account Service experience handling commercial insurance accounts.
  • Experience marketing and remarketing commercial insurance accounts with annual premiums between $10,000 and $80,000.
  • Thorough working knowledge of Applied EPIC agency management system.
  • Current valid Property & Casualty (P&C) License.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial insurance coverages, policy servicing, certificates of insurance, endorsements, renewals, rating, and client account management.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills.

Compensation:

  • Base salary in the 80k - 90k/year range.
  • Health insurance benefits and 401k.
  • 10 holidays and 3 weeks of PTO.
  • Hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office and 2 remote days following the initial training period.
