We are seeking a seasoned Program Manager to support the management and delivery of a complex aviation program comprising multiple projects. The ideal candidate is a strong, well-rounded leader with aviation experience and demonstrated experience managing teams and working across multiple projects, disciplines, and stakeholders. The priority for this role is leadership capability and versatility in preference to deep specialization in a particular technical discipline. The successful candidate will be able to operate effectively within a complex program environment with multiple stakeholders, build strong working relationships, exercise sound judgment, and provide leadership across projects and program needs as they evolve. This role is intended to be an integrated member of the a program team and requires a consistent in office and on-site presence.
What You'll Do:
  • Acts as the client's agent in delivering PMC services in the areas of strategic planning, alternative delivery, innovative financing, procurement/contract management, risk management, project controls, quality management, construction management, project closeout and acceptance, and operations/maintenance.
  • Routinely resolves difficult issues of significant financial impact, assessing and managing risk on behalf of the client.
  • Identifies and effectively pursues opportunities to advance HNTB's presence and revenue opportunity, both with current client(s) and more broadly within the PMC market.
  • Actively works to build a reputation in the industry and within Program Management, maintaining positive relationships with clients and representing HNTB with local, state and national industry organizations.
  • Interacts with senior government or public officials and/or clients on significant program matters often requiring coordination between organizations.
  • Responsible for defining staffing needs for the delivery of services, providing direction and oversight to Project Managers, other staff, client staff and subcontractors.
  • Has an awareness and understanding of the political environment and sensitivities in which a program is being delivered.
  • Able to lead HNTB team in understanding client perspectives and vision of success while keeping staff connected to firm culture and organization.
  • Develops a deep understanding of full range of HNTB services and firm-wide resources.
  • Participates in the development of client service action plans and client project reviews.
  • Carries out other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline
  • 15 years relevant experience

What We Prefer:
  • 15+ years of demonstrated aviation program or project experience supporting large, complex capital programs
  • Proven people leader with demonstrated experience managing and developing teams
  • Polished executive presence with strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Broad program and project management experience with the ability to operate effectively across multiple projects, disciplines, and assignments
  • Collaborative leadership style with demonstrated ability to work effectively across client, consultant, project, and functional teams
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and drive issues toward resolution
  • Sound judgment with the ability to work independently, anticipate needs, identify emerging issues, and appropriately elevate matters requiring leadership attention
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and/or Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred
  • Willingness to relocate if not currently local

The approximate pay range for New York is $259,607.99 - $414,698.47. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position based on all selected locations within the state at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to, the individual's qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as physical work location within the state.
