Ascension Global Staffing & Executive Search is seeking an experienced Medical Malpractice Paralegal to support a busy and sophisticated defense litigation practice.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience handling medical malpractice defense matters and supporting attorneys through all phases of litigation, from inception through trial. This position requires a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who can effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support attorneys in all aspects of medical malpractice defense litigation, including case management, discovery, depositions, and trial preparation.
  • Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, subpoenas, notices, correspondence, and discovery-related documents.
  • Review, organize, and summarize medical records and case materials.
  • Coordinate with clients, healthcare providers, expert witnesses, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • Maintain litigation calendars, deadlines, hearing schedules, and case management databases.
  • Assist with preparation of discovery responses, document productions, medical chronologies, and trial exhibits.
  • Prepare trial binders, coordinate witnesses, and assist attorneys with courtroom preparation and logistics.
  • Conduct legal and factual research as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of medical malpractice defense paralegal experience.
  • Strong understanding of civil litigation procedures and court filing requirements.
  • Experience handling complex litigation files from inception through trial.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, e-filing systems, and case management software.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Paralegal certification preferred (FRP, NALA, or equivalent).
