Custodial Specialist
FOR THE
Washington County Building Maintenance Department
FULL TIME - WITH BENEFITS
$18.50 PER HOUR
Position Summary
Washington County is seeking a reliable and hardworking Custodial Specialist to help maintain clean, safe, and functional county facilities. This entry-level position performs a variety of custodial and basic maintenance duties both indoors and outdoors, supporting daily operations across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of county facilities.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, breakrooms, and common areas.
  • Empty trash, clean walls, doors, windows, and drinking fountains.
  • Monitor and restock custodial supplies; report shortages.
  • Operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, pressure washers, and other tools.
  • Conduct outdoor cleaning of parking areas and recreational courts.
  • Perform basic facility security checks (e.g., door locks).
  • Assist with event setup (tables, chairs, podiums).
  • Perform minor maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Basic understanding of custodial practices, tools, and cleaning agents.
