 JOB OVERVIEW:

As an Entry-Level NOC Technician, you will be part of our Network Operations team responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and supporting Wire3’s fiber network infrastructure. You’ll help ensure network uptime, performance, and reliability while learning the fundamentals of network operations in a fast-paced environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start their career in networking and telecommunications.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor network systems, alarms, and performance metrics to identify and resolve issues proactively.
  • Respond to network events, outages, and customer-impacting issues following established procedures.
  • Escalate complex incidents to senior technicians or engineering teams as needed.
  • Assist in basic network troubleshooting, diagnostics, and equipment checks.
  • Document incidents, resolutions, and updates in ticketing systems.
  • Perform regular maintenance tasks and participate in planned network upgrades.
  • Collaborate with field operations, customer support, and engineering to ensure seamless network performance.
  • Participate in shift coverage, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES:

  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (IP addressing, routing, switching, VLANs, etc.).
  • Customer Service experience
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting technical problems, preferably netowrk or Wifi related.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in a technical career path.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or technical certification preferred (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA).
  • Previous experience in IT, Help Desk, or Network Support preferred but not required. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Ability to work in a 24x7 operational environment.
  • May be exposed to data center environments.
  • Flexiblity for occasional night or weekend work.
