Job description

Position: Abstractor/Searcher

Entry Level Position located in our Webster County office, located in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Provide extensive research with digital database, courthouse land records and other online tools. Compile details of complete ownership of real estate, and conveyances, encumbrances, liens, judgments, etc. affecting chain of title.
Prepare abstracting products aligned with the high standards required by our profession, and those for legal purposes. Serving law firms, lenders, real estate firms, settlement (closing) companies and their consumers.

Primary Responsibilities:

Abstract research, compiling, typing, printing

Open Office Suite knowledge, (helpful, yet easy to learn)

Ability to maintain spreadsheet

Search database and Court House land records

Familiar with legal descriptions,(helpful, but not necessary)

Effectively communicate in person, by telephone and email

Help us to maintain our atmosphere of Exceptional Customer Experience

Ability to maintain accuracy while multitasking

Professionally represent our company outside the office.

Required personal skills:

Ability to type 55 wpm and proof read work

Strong power of mental retention and recall

Telephone etiquette, pleasant voice, smile when conversing

Organized, orderly, positive attitude and a team player

Effective time management

Knowledge and practice of basic math and proper grammar
