Job description

IGK is looking for a chemist/customer service rep to join our research team and participate in high-level, complex research projects. We seek a qualified candidate who has an expert understanding of lab procedures. They will test chemical substances through various methods to ensure the safety, functionality, and quality of a chemical product. The chemist will also be responsible for generating comprehensive technical reports that provide insight into a project, allowing the team to devleop solutions as needed and conduct any additional tests.
Objectives of this role:
  • Prepare, weigh and use solutions for various laboratory procedures;
  • Analyze chemical substances to identify their composition;
  • Customize formulas and run tests to improve the quality of a chemical product;
  • Draft detailed reports conveying experimental results and presenting findings to other scientists;
  • Monitor laboratory equipment to minimize malfunctions and adhere to safety regulation;
  • Customer visits for problem shooting and product research development;
Responsibilities
  • Develop and conduct tests for chemical ingredients, substances, and materials;
  • Participate in high-level chemical research projects and create improved testing methods;
  • Sterilize all used equipment and organize tools in safe areas;
  • Use chemical substances or sources like heat and energy to produce reactions;
Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in chemistry, or other relevant field;
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory technology, tools and tests;
  • Clear written communication skills to produce accurate lab reports;
  • Solid understanding of lab health and safety regulations;
  • Exceptional analytical research skills;
  • Adequate computer skills;
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a laboratory setting;
  • Additional certifications relevant to region;
  • Excellent time-management skills when meeting important deadlines;
  • Ability to think strategically and develop effective solutions;
  • Expereince in sealant manufacturing is an asset;
