Job description

Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is currently hiring experienced Operating Room Registered Nurses to support our patients. Eligible Nurses will qualify for sign-on & relocation bonuses.

Work Schedule: Full-time, day shift: Three 12hr shifts per week. 

Schedule breakdown: 12-hour shifts (6:45am to 7:15pm) with variable days off + on-call requirement (Night, Weekend & Holiday). Scrub and circulating experience preferred. 

We have 14 OR suites offering a comprehensive range of surgical specialties, including ortho, spine, robotic, retina and bariatrics. We perform over 10,000 surgical cases annually using some of the most advanced technologies such as Stryker Mako Robotic-Assisted Joint Procedures, Globus Excelsius Robotic Spine Navigation Platform, OrthAlign Precision Navigation and Medtronic StealthStation Navigation.

Operating Room Registered Nurse Responsibilities:

  • Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple, sometimes conflicting, data sets and synthesizing their interrelationships.
  • Formulates individualized plans of care based upon assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice.
  • Supports and empowers patients and families as they progress through the healthcare continuum from health promotion to end of life decisions.
  • Advocates for patients' rights from the patient/family perspective and provides counsel and acts as a resource to resolve issues.
  • Anticipates ethical, spiritual, and cultural needs of patients/families and assists staff in assessing patients' learning needs. 
     

Operating Room Registered Nurse Requirements:

  • Experience: Requires a minimum of 1 year of direct Operating Room (OR) experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Education: BSN or ADN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate's Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
  • License: Must be licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse.
  • Certification: Basic Life Support with American Heart Association.

Preferred Experience:

  • Scrub and circulating experience strongly preferred
