Job description

Our company is seeking a reliable Entry Level Veterinary Assistant/Dog Day Care Attendant/Boarding Techncican to provide excellent care to dogs staying at our facility. Our ideal candidate is someone who loves animals and can provide high-quality pet care for our customers while their dogs lodge with us. We expect you to provide a fun, safe, and clean environment for dogs and put customers at ease, assuring them that their pets will be safe. You will also inform customers of the various grooming and training services we provide. Prior experience in animal care or kennel management is a must. Come join our family here at MVVH! We are a very special hospital that promotes traditional and preventative medicine for dogs, cats and exotics. We also offer Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture.

Applicant must possess good communication skills as well as be compassionate, energetic and self-motivated. Our staff works as a team to make a difference in the health and well being of our patients and clients. We are a full service hospital that prides ourselves in providing superior service to our patients and clients. We are looking for a part time mature minded, reliable technicians.

Veterinary Assistant duties- Assisting the doctors and technicians during appointments, laboratory work and filling prescriptions, assist in surgery as requested. Clean, sterilize, and maintain kennels, operating rooms, examining rooms, cages, and surgical equipment. Exercise the animals. Also includes bathing, nail trimming of animals. Comfort and restrain pets during examinations and after care from surgery. Administer medications to pets. Perform some clerical duties. Nights, weekends and holidays are required . Bonuses plus medical - 50% paid health and dental benefits offered. We have a discounted pet program after 3 month review period. We have bi-monthly educational staff meetings with guest speakers.

Dog Day Care Attendant Duties and Responsibilities

· Give dogs food and water throughout the day

· Take dogs for walks

· Handle bathing and grooming tasks

· Clean and maintain play area and kennels, keeping them free of waste, fur/hair, and other unsanitary or hazardous materials

· Supervise play areas to ensure pet safety

· Keep report card records of feeding and walking schedules for each dog

· Perform light receptionist duties, such as answering phones and emails

Dog Day Care Attendant Requirements and Qualifications

· High school diploma or GED certificate

· At least 18 years old

· Prior experience at a dog daycare facility, shelter, or in personal animal care

· Familiarity with various dog breeds

· Passion for taking care of animals

· Teamwork and communication skills

· Physical stamina for cleaning and maintaining kennels
