Job description

About Etched
Etched is building hardware for frontier intelligence. We co-design chips, racks, software, and manufacturing to deliver best-in-class throughput and latency across both prefill and decode workloads. Our first products are heavily focused on inference. Backed by hundreds of millions from top-tier investors and staffed by leading engineers, Etched is redefining the infrastructure layer for the fastest growing industry in history.
Job Summary
Etched is looking for a founding Demand Planner to own demand forecasting, supply planning, and finished goods inventory management in support of the company's S&OP objectives. This role is responsible for developing and executing weekly, monthly, and quarterly demand-supply plans, monitoring inventory and production performance, and adjusting plans to meet evolving business needs. The Demand Planner will partner closely with Manufacturing and Global Supply Management teams to translate forecasts into executable build plans, identify and mitigate supply risks, and lead scenario planning under capacity or component constraints. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, experience in production or NPI environments, and thrives in a fast-paced, cross-functional startup setting.

  • Own demand-supply forecasting and finished goods inventory.
  • Generate and execute weekly and quarterly demand - supply plans that meet Etched's S&OP objective. Evaluate risks. Plan and implement contingency plans to mitigate risk.
  • Build and execute weekly, monthly, and quarterly demand and supply plans
  • Monitor planned vs. actual builds, inventory levels across multiple SKU's, and consumption rates; adjust plans as needed
  • Partner with Manufacturing OPM and Global Supply Management to translate forecasts into executable build plans
  • Lead scenario planning, risk identification, and mitigation under capacity or component constraints
  • Drive continuous improvement of demand planning processes, tools, and models

Strong candidates may also have experience with (Nice-to-have qualifications)
  • Experience with APS, MRP/ERP systems, or scenario planning tools
  • Background in hardware, semiconductor, or advanced manufacturing
  • Experience with data visualization, SQL, or Python

Benefits

    • $500 per month credit for waiving medical benefits
  • Housing subsidy of $2k per month for those living within walking distance of the office
  • Relocation support for those moving to San Jose (Santana Row)
  • Various wellness benefits covering fitness, mental health, and more

How we're different
Etched believes in the Bitter Lesson. We are the first inference-focused frontier AI system, betting early on transformer and transformer-like architectures and on increasing model sizes. Our addressable market is the entirety of inference, unlike many of our competitors.
We are a fully in-person team in San Jose and Taipei, and greatly value engineering skills. We do not have boundaries between engineering and research, and we expect all of our technical staff to contribute to both as needed.
