Job Summary:
The Entry-Level Property Maintenance Engineer is responsible for performing basic maintenance and repair activities associated with the operations of The Grand Hotel and Tusayan Trading Post, as well as cleaning and maintenance within company housing locations.

Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round
Pay: $18.40 per hour 
Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities
  • Fully understand and support Xanterra Mission Statement and Core Values.
  • Continually focus on providing exceptional guest service as a primary goal, both in how work is conducted and when interacting with guests.
  • Responsible for general cleaning and light maintenance within company housing and hotel. This includes indoor activities including but not limited to, mopping, sweeping, housing room cleaning for the next occupant. As well as cleaning restrooms, lobbies, entryways, walkways, and hallways, within the hotel.    
  • Responsible for outdoor custodial duties such as snow and ice removal from sidewalks and or walkways, mowing lawns, weeding flower beds, and clearing grasses to ensure a clean and healthy environment. Deliver supplies and materials to various locations and departments within the company.
  • Complete room deliveries of items as requested by the front desk, as well as requests from housekeeping.
  • Communicate status of requests with the front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance manager throughout shift, and when called on the radio for assistance.
  • Perform basic record keeping duties and perform basic equipment data collection and recording functions.
  • Receive training in basic equipment repair, such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC maintenance, mechanical, painting etc. This includes plunging toilets, changing light bulbs, changing air filters, smoke detector checks and battery replacements, etc.
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance duties such as filter changing, motor/pump maintenance, evaporative cooler maintenance, ice machine maintenance, etc. as it applies to the preventive maintenance program.
  • Ensure departmental adherence to all prescribed Company, statutory/regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Minimum one year experience in general maintenance or housekeeping/residential cleaning.
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks without close supervision.
  • Willingness to help out in all areas of the Rooms and maintenance departments.

Working Conditions:

Work in inclement weather conditions.

Work hours may include a nonstandard workweek, overtime, varying shifts, and call out coverage.

Physical Requirements include:

Constantly: Stand, walk.

Frequently: Lift/carry up to 10lbs.

Occasionally: Sit, handle, reach, climb, crawl, squat/kneel, bend, lift/carry up to 100lbs, push/pull up to 100lbs.
