Job description

Revenue Cycle Management is looking for a full-time Payment Posting individual to join the team!
SUMMARY: The Payment Posting incumbent is responsible for overseeing operations in connection with accounts receivable and duties associated with full cycle processing of Accounts Recovery, including collections, posting payments, and reconciling payment collections with patients’ billing statements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Answers telephone and deal with inquiries
  • Responds and comply to requests for information including sending faxes and e-mails
  • Reconciles and coordinate with the billing team for all incoming payments according to the patients’ explanation of benefits (EOB) and contractual payments and adjustments
  • Follows up with pending/outstanding incoming payments
  • Reviews incoming mail, captures information and forwards to posting team
  • Prepares payment for deposit
  • Collects and organizes medical records payments
  • Updates information and scans into database
  • Ensures completeness and accuracy of tasks and projects
  • Reports statistics as required
  • Performs other job-related duties and special projects as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of interpretation of Explanation of Benefits (EOB’s) and understands contractual payments and adjustments
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology
  • Knowledge of computer and relevant software applications
  • Strong attention to detail: being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks
  • Ability to adapt with flexibility: being open to change (positive or negative) and to considerable variety in the workplace
  • Ability to work independently by guiding oneself with little or no supervision and depending one oneself to get things done
  • Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette
  • Energetic with a desire to learn and develop new skills
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One (1) year experience working with EOB's
