Qualifications
A Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited program is required at time of appointment, with at least 3 years of post MSW practice required. A Ph.D. in Social Work, Doctor of Social Work (DSW), or related field is preferred, and ABD applicants will be considered. We are seeking applicants with a background in macro social work practice to contribute to our Sociology program and the new interdisciplinary Bachelor of Social Work program. Successful candidates will have expertise in one or more of the following areas: family and society, social welfare, macro social work practice including policy and research, international development, or immigration services. Preference will be given to candidates that can teach current departmental offerings, including introduction to social work, family and society, and poverty and social welfare, as well as develop new courses in their areas of expertise. Candidates must be committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching and demonstrate potential for research, publication, and service to the discipline/university.
