Job description

Machine Operator / Entry-Level Machinist

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour DOE
Schedule: Full-Time | Overtime Available

We are seeking motivated and reliable Machine Operators to join our manufacturing team. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with machining experience or formal CNC/Machining training who are looking to grow their skills in a fast-paced production environment.

Position Summary

Under close supervision, you will operate bench-type and floor-mounted machinery used in the manufacturing process. This role involves routine machine operation, quality inspections, and maintaining production standards while working safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Operate production machinery including drill presses, grinders, saws, manual and CNC mills, lathes, broaches, and screw machines
  • Follow blueprints, work instructions, and production procedures
  • Perform quality inspections using measuring devices, gauges, and calibration tools
  • Identify product defects, machine issues, and quality concerns
  • Make simple machine adjustments as needed
  • Meet daily production goals and deadlines
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Support team projects and assist in other production areas as needed

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 months of machining experience required
  • Formal CNC or Machining education preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to read and follow written work instructions, blueprints, and specifications
  • Experience using measuring tools and inspection equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Frequent repetitive hand and arm movements
  • Frequent lifting of up to 40 lbs.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. and, in some departments, up to 80 lbs. with assistance
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, climb ladders, and move throughout the facility as needed
