Job Title: Machine OperatorJob DescriptionJoin a highly automated, state-of-the-art manufacturing team where you will help set up, run, and monitor CNC and other automated equipment to produce high-quality parts. You will work closely with experienced technicians to operate advanced machinery, troubleshoot process issues at a technical level, and support continuous improvement in a modern production environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up CNC equipment and related tooling according to production requirements and established procedures.
- Run and monitor automated manufacturing equipment, including CNC tooling, to produce production parts to specification.
- Assist with configuring and operating advanced automation systems such as PLC-controlled equipment, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and robotics.
- Perform in-process inspections using measurement tools, height gauges, and other metrology equipment to verify part quality.
- Interpret and apply basic Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) concepts to ensure parts meet dimensional requirements.
- Use Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods, as applicable, to monitor and maintain process stability.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues in process operations to minimize downtime and scrap.
- Follow Lock Out/Tag Out and other safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Support and participate in LEAN manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
- Document production data, quality checks, and process adjustments as required.
- Collaborate with team members, technicians, and engineers to optimize machine performance and production efficiency.
- Learn and master all duties required for advancement into Process Technician roles and other technical career paths.
Essential Skills- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and comfort working with complex machinery and tooling.
- Experience running advanced manufacturing processes, including CNC equipment and automated systems.
- Familiarity with automation technologies such as PLCs, VFDs, and robotics.
- Working knowledge of quality principles and GD&T, including the ability to use measurement tools and height gauges.
- Experience using or supporting CMM and Statistical Process Control (SPC) in a production environment.
- Understanding and practical application of Lock Out/Tag Out safety procedures.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues in process operations and take appropriate corrective actions.
- Comfort working in a LEAN manufacturing environment with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality parts.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced production setting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Previous education in Machining or Mechatronics from a technical school or similar program is a plus.
- Experience operating CNC machines and automated manufacturing equipment in a production environment.
- Knowledge of GD&T and quality systems, including the use of CMMs and other precision measurement tools.
- Exposure to LEAN manufacturing concepts and practices.
- Interest in developing skills toward Process Technician, Manufacturing Engineering, or Process Engineering career paths.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training, job shadow programs, and online learning to expand technical capabilities.
