What You’ll Do

The purpose of the Receiving Lead is to play a vital role in overseeing the efficient and accurate receipt of freight. You will be responsible for coordinating the receiving process, ensuring the safe unloading of merchandise from delivery trucks, and maintaining proper documentation of received goods. Your keen attention to detail and strong organizational skills will contribute to the smooth flow of merchandise from the truck to the shelves.

  • Lead and coordinate the receiving team to ensure timely and accurate unloading, sorting, and processing of incoming freight in accordance with the company guidelines and safety protocols.
  • Inspect incoming merchandise for damages, discrepancies, and proper labeling, taking appropriate actions to address any issues and coordinating with relevant business partners.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and update the inventory management system regularly to reflect received goods.
  • Perform a daily analysis of negative inventory, investigating to pinpoint underlying causes and propose effective solutions.
  • Work closely with other departments, such as purchasing and logistics, to coordinate the flow of merchandise and resolve any receiving related issues.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the receiving area to facilitate a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Proactively identify and address potential receiving challenges and take appropriate action to prevent disruptions to the supply chain.
  • Facilitate store-to-store transfers and UPS transfers efficiently.
  • Coordinates backhaul requests, ensuring proper wrapping of all pallets, and loading the truck.
  • File all receiving paperwork and fill out Daily Forklift Checklist.
  • Operate forklift, pallet jack, Telxon gun and other retail equipment.
  • Use general office equipment such as telephone, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, computer.
  • Participate in cross-training for flexibility in various departments and responsibilities.
  • Actively participate in learning initiatives offered such as training programs, workshops, and webinars. Leverage these opportunities to acquire new knowledge, refine existing skills, and stay current on the latest developments.
  • Provide friendly, proactive, and professional internal and external support to others, assisting with inquiries, concerns, and issues promptly and effectively.

Physical Requirements  
  • Ability to maintain a seated or standing position for extended durations.
  • Ability to lift, push, and/or pull a minimum of 30 pounds repetitively and 31-50 pounds intermittently.
