Job Title: HR Manager

Department: Human Resources

Location: Onsite, Oak Creek, WI

Thrive Freeze Dry, a freeze-dried manufacturing company is recruiting for an HR Manager for the Oak Creek, WI Manufacturing facility. Reporting to the Director of Employee Relations, the Human Resources Manage will lead and direct the functions of the Human Resources Department including hiring, employee relations, employee engagement, administering pay, leave of absence, and enforcing company policies and practices.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provides support and guidance to management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and executes routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
  • Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Partnering with Corporate Learning and Development Manager will create programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
  • Oversee employee relations activities and employee engagement events.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trend, best practices, regulatory changes, and innovative technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • Bi-lingual, English/Spanish preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of human resources management experience preferred in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems.

Must be able to perform the essential functions with or without accommodations:

  • Consistent attendance with ability to work on-site.
  • Must be able to occasionally work varied shifts.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's manufacturing facility.
