Overview 

At Kimpton Cottonwood Hotel, we believe great culinary careers start with passion, creativity, and the right team behind you. We're looking for an enthusiastic Entry-Level Line Cook to join our talented culinary team and begin an exciting journey in one of Omaha's most iconic dining destinations. Home of the legendary Reuben Sandwich and one of the city's premier chophouse experiences, the Cottonwood offers an energetic, supportive environment where you can sharpen your skills, learn from experienced chefs, and grow across multiple food & beverage outlets throughout the hotel.

As an Entry-Level Line Cook, you'll work alongside experienced culinary professionals to help create unforgettable dining experiences for our guests. Whether you're preparing elevated chophouse classics, supporting banquet events, or learning the fast-paced rhythm of our diverse outlets, every shift is an opportunity to grow your craft.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with food preparation including chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients
  • Follow recipes and cooking techniques to ensure consistency and high-quality execution
  • Cook and plate menu items according to established presentation standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation
  • Support inventory organization, stocking, and kitchen prep operations
  • Collaborate with chefs and culinary leaders on menu development and daily features
  • Adhere to all food safety and sanitation standards
  • Provide support across multiple kitchen outlets and culinary operations as needed

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Culinary arts education or relevant training is a plus
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for cooking
  • Willingness to learn and take direction from senior chefs
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
