Job description

Position Summary
The Clinical Education Specialist generates new referral sources for healthcare diagnostic services to maintain and grow the region's existing referral base on behalf of Persante Health Care and hospital partners.
This role is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with physician offices, healthcare providers, hospital administrators, and referral sources throughout the Connecticut territory. The Clinical Education Specialist serves as a liaison between referral partners and Persante operational teams while supporting growth initiatives, provider education, and customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Referral Development and Territory Growth
  • Identify and develop prospective referral sources by researching physician offices, healthcare systems, and regional market opportunities.
  • Maintain and grow existing referral relationships through ongoing communication and service support.
  • Convert prospective referral sources into active referring providers through consultative relationship development.
  • Capture and maintain daily sales and referral activities within the company's customer relationship management (CRM) system.
  • Promote Persante Health Care services and hospital partnership programs throughout the assigned territory.
  • Demonstrate ownership, initiative, and accountability while supporting referral growth, customer service, and territory development.

Clinical Education and Provider Support
  • Educate physician offices and healthcare providers on sleep diagnostics, sleep disorders, related comorbidities, and Persante services.
  • Provide provider and patient education through scheduled in-services, presentations, and ongoing communication.
  • Share clinical resources, referral process updates, and reporting tools to support customer satisfaction and operational continuity.
  • Prepare and present PowerPoint presentations for assigned meetings and educational events.

Relationship Management and Operational Support
  • Serve as a liaison between physician offices, hospital partners, and Persante operational teams to identify and resolve service-related concerns.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to support customer service, operational efficiency, and referral continuity.
  • Share knowledge, experience, and best practices with team members while contributing to a collaborative, high-performing sales team.
  • Participate in community outreach events including hospital-sponsored health fairs, lectures, and open houses.
  • Maintain current knowledge of market conditions, regional competitors, consultative sales techniques, and clinically related topics.
  • Attend and participate in weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, and quarterly meetings as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Healthcare sales, medical sales, business development, or provider relationship experience preferred. Motivated entry-level candidates with strong communication skills and a desire to build a career in healthcare are encouraged to apply.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain professional referral relationships.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing a regional territory.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and PowerPoint.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • Experience working with physician offices, hospital systems, or diagnostic services.
  • Knowledge of sleep medicine, pulmonary, cardiology, or related healthcare specialties.
  • Experience with CRM platforms and healthcare referral management.

Physical and Work Requirements
This position requires frequent local travel throughout the assigned territory, prolonged periods of driving, standing, walking, and presenting within physician offices, hospitals, and healthcare facilities. Ability to communicate effectively in both individual and group settings is required.
Employment Details (Role-Specific)
Salary Range: $75,000-$80,000
