Position Purpose

The 12-month Nurse Residency Program at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford, CT supports newly graduated RNs - or RNs with less than one year of experience - as they transition from entrylevel practice to professional competence. The program provides structured education, clinical support, and guided experience to build confidence and core nursing skills.

  • Deliver safe, evidencebased, peoplecentered care

  • Build leadership skills at the bedside

  • Apply research and best practices in daily care

  • Learn through collaboration with educators, preceptors, and peers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduated or projected to graduate from an accredited nursing program

  • Less than 12 months of RN experience

  • Valid Connecticut RN license required before orientation. *RN license number must be provided on the Monday before orientation
