What is an entry level helpdesk?

Entry level helpdesk jobs are positions in IT support where individuals assist users with basic technical issues, such as troubleshooting software, hardware, or network problems. These roles often serve as the first point of contact for customers or employees needing technical assistance. Entry level helpdesk staff typically follow scripts or guidelines to resolve common problems and may escalate more complex issues to higher-level technicians. This role provides valuable experience and foundational knowledge for those interested in advancing in the IT field.

What skills and qualifications are needed for an entry level helpdesk?

To thrive as an Entry Level Helpdesk Technician, you need a basic understanding of computer hardware, software troubleshooting, networking fundamentals, and often an associate degree or relevant certification like CompTIA A+. Familiarity with ticketing systems, remote desktop tools, and knowledge bases is typically required. Strong communication, patience, and problem-solving skills help you support users effectively and work well under pressure. These skills ensure prompt resolution of technical issues, high customer satisfaction, and smooth IT operations.

What are common challenges faced by entry level helpdesk professionals, and how can they be overcome?

Entry level helpdesk professionals often encounter challenges such as managing a high volume of support tickets, troubleshooting unfamiliar technical issues, and communicating effectively with users of varying technical backgrounds. To overcome these challenges, it's helpful to develop strong organizational skills, actively seek guidance from more experienced team members, and continually expand your technical knowledge through training and hands-on practice. Building strong communication and customer service skills also goes a long way in ensuring successful interactions with end-users and colleagues.

Job description

Entry Level Business Representative

Location: Chicago, IL
Job Type: Full-Time | Entry Level

If you're competitive, enjoy talking with people, and want to build a career instead of just finding another job, we'd love to meet you.

We're a growing sales and marketing firm in Chicago looking for motivated individuals to join our Business-to-Business (B2B) sales team. In this role, you'll work with qualified business leads, meeting face-to-face with local business owners to help them find telecommunications and technology solutions that fit their needs.

No experience? No problem. We provide paid training, hands-on coaching, and the support you need to build confidence and develop valuable sales and communication skills.

What You'll Be Doing As A Business Sales Representative:

  • Meet with business owners using qualified leads provided by the company
  • Learn our clients' products and services so you can confidently present solutions
  • Build genuine relationships with business owners and understand their needs
  • Guide customers through the sales process with professionalism and integrity
  • Continue developing your communication and sales skills through ongoing training
  • Work toward individual and team performance goals in a positive, competitive environment

What We Offer at Alpha Marketing Concepts:

  • Uncapped commission
  • Paid training from experienced sales professionals
  • Weekly bonuses and performance incentives
  • Ongoing coaching and leadership development
  • A team environment that celebrates wins and supports your growth
  • Opportunities to take on additional responsibilities based on your performance and business needs

Who Thrives Here:

We're looking for people who are:

  • Competitive and driven to improve every day
  • Positive, coachable, and eager to learn
  • Comfortable meeting new people and building relationships
  • Reliable, professional, and motivated to achieve goals
  • Looking for more than just a job—they're looking for a career

Previous experience in sales, customer service, athletics, hospitality, or leadership is a plus, but it's not required. We hire for attitude, work ethic, and willingness to learn.

About Us:

We're a sales and marketing firm that helps nationally recognized brands grow through face-to-face business development. Our team believes that great leaders are developed, not born, which is why we invest heavily in training, mentorship, and professional growth. Whether you're starting your career or looking for a new challenge, we're committed to helping you build skills that will benefit you for years to come.

Company Description

Chicago sales and marketing firm helping national brands grow through B2B customer acquisition and leadership development.
