The PACS Administrator is a critical role supporting Imaging Services and system-wide imaging technology.

You would ensure the stability, performance, and continuous improvement of PACS/RIS systems, imaging workflows, and integrations across the health system.

This role reports to the Director of Imaging Services.
Essential & valuable skills gained (in this unit or in this department):

· Advanced PACS/RIS system administration and troubleshooting
· Imaging workflow optimization and system integration
· Cross-functional collaboration with IT, Clinical Informatics, and Radiology teams
· Project management for imaging system implementations and upgrades
· Vendor management and system performance optimization

(Unit / Dept.) Successes and Designation

· Supports high-performing Imaging Services operations across multiple facilities
· Contributes to system uptime, efficiency, and quality patient imaging outcomes
· Plays a key role in maintaining timely image access and radiologist workflow efficiency

(Unit / Dept.) Training & Onboarding Culture

· Collaborative onboarding with Imaging Services, IT, and Clinical Informatics
· Hands-on training with PACS/RIS systems, workflows, and imaging modalities
· Ongoing education and support for system updates, integrations, and best practices
Essential Job Duties:

· Manage and maintain PACS, RIS, and supporting imaging systems
· Lead and coordinate imaging system projects, upgrades, and implementations
· Troubleshoot system issues and ensure maximum uptime and performance
· Coordinate system downtime procedures and recovery efforts
· Serve as liaison between Imaging Services, IT, vendors, and clinical departments
· Support image transmission, archiving, routing, and system integrity
· Ensure accurate image availability and timely radiology workflow support
· Maintain system documentation, workflows, and training materials
· Provide technical support, training, and guidance to staff
· Assist with compliance, reporting, and system performance monitoring

Qualifications:

Required:
· Bachelor’s degree in related healthcare IT or Information Systems discipline
· 2-5 year of PACS/RIS or other imaging and integration support experience
· Basic knowledge of DICOM standard and DICOM communication
· Excellent planning/organizational skills
· Excellent communication and follow-up
· Critical thinking skills
· Capable and willing to continuously and rapidly self-learn new technology
· Must have ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
· Ability to work on tight deadlines, in person.  This position is not remote or hybrid.
· Experience using computers for a variety of tasks

Preferred:
· Project management
· Radiology/Imaging experience and working knowledge of Imaging modalities and workflows
· Server/networking knowledge/experience
· HL7 basic knowledge

Licenses / Certifications:

· Relevant certifications in healthcare IT, imaging informatics, or PACS systems preferred
