  • Work under the supervision of a project manager or senior-level engineer to support water, wastewater, stormwater, and related infrastructure projects.
  • Perform field work, including site visits, inspections, and data collection to support design, permitting, and construction activities.
  • Prepare and contribute to engineering reports, technical memoranda, and permit applications for municipal infrastructure projects.
  • Assist with construction engineering tasks such as reviewing contractor submittals, observing construction activities, and documenting field conditions.
  • Complete simple design calculations related to water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, stormwater and drainage facilities, grading, and site development.
  • Coordinate with contractors during design and construction to clarify plans, resolve issues, and support successful project delivery.

  • Support the design of water distribution facilities, wastewater collection systems, and related infrastructure for municipal clients across various communities.
  • Assist with rehabilitation and new construction projects for water systems, wastewater systems, and transportation-related infrastructure.
  • Contribute to stormwater engineering tasks, including drainage analysis and design, as assigned.
  • Collaborate with internal team members in a strong, team-oriented environment to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
  • Interact with clients in a professional manner, supporting meetings, presentations, and project updates as your experience grows.
  • Work closely with an assigned mentor, participate in frequent performance evaluations, and actively pursue professional growth and development.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental/Ecological Engineering.
  • 0–3 years of civil engineering experience in one or more of the following areas: water or wastewater, transportation, site development, stormwater, or drainage.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2, verified via official transcripts, or at least 1+ year of water/wastewater design engineering experience if GPA is below 3.2.
  • Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) / Engineer-in-Training (EI) credential preferred and recognized with an elevated entry-level title.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D for civil design, including grading, drainage, and site layout.
  • Foundational knowledge of water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, and stormwater/drainage design principles.
  • Ability to perform basic engineering calculations and apply standard engineering methods to real-world problems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to prepare reports, coordinate with contractors, and communicate with government officials and clients.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a project team under the supervision of senior engineers and project managers.
  • Willingness to perform both office and field work, including inspections and site visits.
  • Commitment to pursuing a professional engineering career in water resources and water/wastewater infrastructure.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Graduate degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline is a plus.
  • Passed FE (EI) exam is preferred and may qualify you for an Engineering Intern title and corresponding responsibilities.

  • Interest in working on rehabilitation and new construction projects for municipal infrastructure across multiple communities.
  • Motivation to learn from experienced engineers and participate in a structured mentoring environment.
  • Desire to work in a field that is considered resilient and impactful, with a direct contribution to public health and community infrastructure.
