Job description

Mayvin is seeking an Entry-Level Financial Analyst to support the U.S Marshals Service’s (USMS’s) Financial Services Division (FSD) at the Austin Processing Center (APC). The Financial Analyst will assist in various financial matters and will serve as a liaison with Federal Employees, Contractors, and Divisions across the U.S. Marshals Service.

Must be a U.S. Citizen

Must be able to undergo and pass a Tier 2 background investigation (BI)

Responsibilities:

  • Processes financial documents and transactions from designated Districts using the Unified Financial Management System (UFMS)
  • Reviews accounting practices to ensure compliance with other Federal laws and regulations (e.g., Single Audit Act), generally accepted Government accounting practices, and relevant Office Management and Budget circulars
  • Identifies corrective actions for improper or illegal expenditures and accounting funds
  • Reviews and analyzes annual financial statements to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, program policies, and procedures
  • Demonstrates proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing software and general knowledge of financial statements

Qualifications:

  • Four-year undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with financial, budgetary or a related field
  • Superior attention to detail
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with superior Excel skills (V-lookup, Pivot Tables, etc.)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
