Job description

It Starts With Our Employees

FourLeaf's ultimate goal is to provide the best-in-class member and employee experience, and it all begins with two things: hiring incredible people and giving them a great place to work.

What You’ll Do

The Senior Financial Risk Analyst supports the Financial Risk Manager in the comprehensive identification, measurement, monitoring, and reporting of the credit union’s financial risks, including credit risk, interest rate risk (IRR), liquidity risk, price/market risk, model risk, and capital risk. The role plays a critical part in capital planning, stress testing, and risk governance by providing advanced analytics to support strategic initiatives, new products, and business planning while ensuring alignment with FourLeaf’s risk appetite and regulatory expectations.

Core Contributions

  • Financial Risk & Capital Analysis
    • Analyze credit risk across loan portfolios, investments, and off-balance-sheet exposures, including asset quality trends, concentrations, and stress scenarios.
    • Measure and monitor interest rate risk using ALM models (e.g., NII and EVE sensitivity analysis).
    • Evaluate liquidity risk through cash flow analysis, funding sources, stress testing, and contingency funding plans.
    • Assess price/market risk related to the investment portfolio and other financial instruments.
    • Assist in evaluating capital requirements for new products, business initiatives, balance sheet strategies, and strategic projects.
    • Collaborate with relevant business units to gather relevant data and ensure accurate assessment of capital and risk impacts.
  • Capital Planning & Stress Testing
    • Assist in the preparation of capital forecasts for monthly, quarterly, annual, and multi-year planning cycles, including the Annual Business Plan and internal stress testing scenarios.
    • Support capital planning and risk appetite setting in partnership with Enterprise Risk, Finance, and Legal teams.
    • Perform scenario and sensitivity analysis to evaluate capital adequacy under baseline and stressed economic and interest rate environments.
    • Conduct capital metric benchmarking against peer credit unions and banks, incorporating regulatory guidance and industry developments to identify capital optimization opportunities.
  • Model Risk & Methodology Oversight
    • Analyze the impact of proposed changes in financial risk models and methodologies on capital, earnings, and risk metrics.
    • Communicate model and capital impacts to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
    • Perform model performance monitoring, back-testing, sensitivity analysis, and documentation in accordance with internal governance standards.
  • Governance, Policies & Reporting
    • Support the review and update of capital planning, financial risk, and reporting policies and procedures to ensure alignment with regulatory guidance and industry best practices.
    • Ensure governance frameworks remain current and reflect changes in business strategy, risk profile, models, or regulatory requirements.
    • Prepare documentation, analytics, and presentations summarizing capital and risk impacts for the Financial Risk Manager to present to senior management.
    • Provide capital- and risk-related analytics and updates for key stakeholder forums, including ALCO, Capital Committee, Risk Committee, and Board of Directors.
  • Regulatory & Audit Support
    • Support NCUA examinations, internal audits, and independent reviews by providing data, analysis, and issue remediation support.
    • Assist in responding to regulatory inquiries related to capital adequacy, stress testing, and financial risk management practices.
  • Collaboration & Strategic Support
    • Partner with Finance, Lending, ALM, and IT teams to support strategic initiatives and balance sheet optimization.
    • Assist management with special projects and ad hoc analyses related to capital strategy, earnings sustainability, and long-term financial resilience.

Assets You Will Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a financial institution with a related area of Financial Risk Management, Insurance Management, Stress Testing, Model Risk, Finance and/or Accounting.
  • Strong understanding of credit risk, interest rate risk, liquidity risk, market risk, and capital adequacy concepts.
  • Knowledge of analytical tools and systems (e.g., ALM software, SQL, Python, R, or similar) is preferred.
  • Certifications: Financial Risk Management Certification (FRM) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) are both preferred.

The estimated salary for this role is $40.41 to $48.50 per hour.
