Job description

At Ripple, we're building a world where value moves like information does today. It's big, it's bold, and we're already doing it. Through our crypto solutions for financial institutions, businesses, governments and developers, we are improving the global financial system and creating greater economic fairness and opportunity for more people, in more places around the world. And we get to do the best work of our career and grow our skills surrounded by colleagues who have our backs.
If you're ready to see your impact and unlock incredible career growth opportunities, join us, and build real world value.
THE WORK:
At Ripple, we are at the forefront of building the Internet of Value, creating a new global standard for how value moves seamlessly today. We are seeking a Senior Manager, Financial Risk, to act as a critical partner to our commercial leadership. This isn't a traditional, back-office risk role; you will be at the commercial heart of the business, shaping the strategies that allow us to scale our products and enter new markets prudently. You'll be one of the experts in the room, translating complex financial risks into clear, actionable business insights and strategies that directly enable and protect Ripple's growth!
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Be a Strategic Partner to the Business: You won't just assess risk; you'll co-pilot business growth across RLUSD, Payments, Lending, and Trading. You'll work hand-in-hand with commercial leaders to structure innovative deals and develop new products, providing the expert risk guidance that makes ambitious goals achievable. Your primary objective is to find the path to "yes" while safeguarding the firm within its risk appetite.
  • Build the Future of Risk Management: Design and implement sophisticated risk models, loss forecasting methodologies, reporting tools, and stress testing frameworks that are fit-for-purpose in the digital asset space. You will be instrumental in building the robust governance structures and reporting systems that keep senior leadership informed and drive strategic alignment.
  • Communicate, Educate, and Influence: Become the go-to expert for financial risk across the organization. A key part of your role will be to distill highly technical topics into concise, easy-to-understand insights for a variety of partners, from business development to the C-suite. Your ability to communicate effectively will shape risk culture and drive informed decision-making across Ripple.
  • Mitigate Counterparty Risk: You'll move beyond traditional financial statement analysis to develop a comprehensive view of counterparty health in the dynamic crypto ecosystem, setting intelligent credit limits and monitoring exposures that empower our partners to grow with us.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
We're looking for a leader who is passionate about building at the intersection of traditional finance and the new world of crypto. You are commercially-minded, agile, and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • A proven track record (10+ years) of excellence in risk, financial markets, or trading, with a deep understanding of complex financial products.
  • A commercial and strategic mindset. You have a history of working directly with business teams to find creative, risk-aware solutions to complex challenges.
  • Exceptional communication skills. You are a master at simplifying complexity and can confidently and concisely articulate risk-related concepts to any audience, from engineers to executives.
  • Expertise in financial statement analysis, credit underwriting, limit-setting, and building sophisticated risk models.
  • A genuine passion for learning and a deep curiosity about the crypto ecosystem (direct crypto experience is a major plus).
  • A "team-first" attitude, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate and build strong relationships with cross-functional partners.
  • The agility to adapt to shifting priorities, manage multiple high-stakes projects, and perform exceptionally under pressure.
  • Success in this role will pave the way for future leadership opportunities, either advancing within the global risk organization or moving into a leadership role within one of the business lines you partner with.
