Job Summary:

The role of Technical Support Engineering is to assist cross-functional teams with the sustainment of multiple integration lab configurations. We are looking for a technically-sound individual interested in working with mission system solutions that have direct impact to national security programs.  The Technical Support Engineering Associate is an entry-level professional with primarily theoretical knowledge, working under general direction and guidance within standard processes for non-routine tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Interfaces with external IT consultants and contractors relative to troubleshooting technically complex processes and projects
  • Receives multi-tier support calls and enters trouble tickets into database
  • Provides remote support for off-site customers
  • Attends program team meetings to form an understanding of SIL (Software Integration Lab) needs
  • Engineers SIL solutions based on Software requirements
  • Fabricates any and all wiring required to install hardware components
  • Checks the event logs for servers, firewalls and alerts
  • Provides complex PC hardware/software setup, support and repair
  • Installs desktop OS and application patches
  • Advanced LAN troubleshooting, and infrastructure support (wiring, soldering, troubleshooting and connectivity)
  • Analyzes customer organizational needs and contributes to the resolution of a wide range of computer problems
  • Participates as a multidisciplinary production team member
  • Designs, implements, maintains, and improves electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial purposes
  • Performs all job functions with a positive, professional attitude

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Working knowledge of schematic diagrams, mechanical assembly drawings, electrical and electronic test equipment, AC and DC theory, electronics, and general build processes including but not limited to soldering, wiring, PCB handling, and mechanical assembly.
  • Proficiency with the safe and proper operation of basic electrical test equipment, electronics tools, and hand tools.
  • Must understand and have experience in networking to include LAN's, routers and switches
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Able to carry out as well as create complex technical instructions
  • Understanding of software contracts, upgrades paths, and license key
  • Flexibility and ability to handle multiple projects
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide-range, diverse user community and present ideas and solutions in a user-friendly language to team members and to non-technical staff and end-users
  • Ability to build positive relationships with both customers and program teams
  • Ability to operate independently, ensuring customer satisfaction and compliance with applicable regulations and norms

  •  To be eligible, applicants must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree or have completed their Bachelor's degree within the last 12 months, regardless of age.
