Full job description
Rabel's Roadhaus BBQ is looking for a Line Cook II. Line Cook II is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items, supports kitchen operations, and ensures food quality and consistency according to established recipes and standards.
Essential Job Functions: *including but not limited to*
  • Prepare and cook a variety of menu items according to recipes and standards.
  • Ensure proper food handling and sanitation practices are followed at all times.
  • Operates kitchen equipment such as grills, ovens, fryers, and stovetops.
  • Ensure food quality, portion control, and proper presentation.
  • Assist in coordinating food preparation during service periods.
  • Support and guide entry level cooks when necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a restaurant or kitchen environment
  • Working knowledge of cooking techniques and food preparation methods.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of food and safety regulations and sanitation practices.
  • Strong knife skills and knowledge of food handling and safety practices.
  • Familiarity with meal preparation and catering services.

Physical Demands:
This position requires sitting, standing, walking, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, holding, twisting, reaching, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift at least forty (40) pounds.
Must be able to stand and work in a hot, humid and sometimes loud environment for long periods of time. Must be able to work quickly and accurately in a fast paced kitchen environment.

Rabel's Roadhaus BBQ started in a food truck in 2018 in our hometown of La Vernia, TX. Rabel's grew from there, and opened up a brick and mortar restaurant in New Berlin, TX in 2020. We were in New Berlin for four years before the opportunity to move to our current La Vernia, TX. location came to us in 2023, and officially moved in July of 2024.
