Job description

We are looking for an experienced Line Cook to join our growing team! You will be preparing and cooking a variety of breakfast dishes for restaurant guests to enjoy. We are a breakfast-only restaurant: early mornings required, no evenings.
Early mornings are required (6:15 AM) & weekend availability is expected. The Original Pancake House is open 7 days/week from 7:00 AM-2:00 PM Monday-Friday and 7:00 AM-3:00PM Saturday/Sunday, closed on Thanksgiving & Christmas Day. We offer company health insurance available, 401K, paid sick leave.

With previous experience as a Line Cook, you can manage multiple priorities and contribute to a friendly and productive team atmosphere. Ideally, you have your Serve-Safe or Food Handlers certification.
Entry level cooks start at $17.13 per hour. Experienced cooks can earn up to $21 per hour. All BOH employees earn tips in addition to their hourly wage. Tips range from $4-6 per hour, paid weekly on Fridays.
Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and clean food preparation areas, such as equipment and work surfaces or serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
  • Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock
  • Ensure food is stored and cooked at the correct temperature by regulating the temperature of ovens, and grills
  • Season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment and experience
  • Turn or stir foods to ensure even cooking
  • Team player
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as a restaurant cook preferred
  • ServeSafe or Food Handlers certification (or must be willing to attain)
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to lift 30+ lbs
  • Ability to work standing for 8+ hours
  • Must be able to work weekends
