What is an entry level commission sales job?

Entry level commission sales jobs are positions designed for individuals who are new to sales and typically have little or no prior experience in the field. These roles involve selling products or services and earning income primarily through commissions, which are payments based on the amount of sales made. Employees may receive a base salary or rely solely on commissions, depending on the employer. The goal of these jobs is to develop sales skills, build a client base, and meet or exceed sales targets. Training and mentorship are often provided to help new hires succeed and grow within the company.

What are some common challenges faced by entry level commission sales professionals, and how can they overcome them?

Entry-level commission sales professionals often face challenges such as building a client base from scratch, handling rejections, and maintaining motivation during slow sales periods. Success in this role requires resilience, strong communication skills, and consistent follow-up with leads. Proactively seeking mentorship from experienced colleagues, setting clear goals, and celebrating small wins can help overcome these hurdles. Additionally, leveraging CRM tools and attending team meetings can provide valuable support and learning opportunities.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an entry level commission sales representative?

To thrive as an Entry Level Commission Sales representative, you need strong interpersonal skills, a persuasive communication style, and a basic understanding of sales principles, typically supported by a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) software and point-of-sale (POS) systems is often required. Outstanding active listening, resilience, and a results-driven mindset help individuals excel in this role. These skills and qualities are essential for building client relationships, meeting sales targets, and adapting to the fast-paced, competitive nature of commission-based environments.

Job description

Are you hungry, coachable, and disciplined with grit? Are you not afraid to pick up the phone and create opportunities instead of waiting for them?
US Air Filtration is growing, and we’re looking for an entry-level sales professional who’s ready to build their own book of business from the ground up. This role is designed for someone who understands that real sales success in sales is earned over time through consistency, effort and follow-through.
About Us
At US Air Filtration, our mission is to help our customers achieve peak production by providing exceptional service, products, and expertise in air pollution control.
What You’ll Do
  • Prospect and build relationships with new customers
  • Make outbound calls and confidently engage decision-makers
  • Develop, manage, and grow your own book of business
  • Follow proven Sandler sales processes and coaching
  • Stay organized, disciplined, and accountable to daily activity
Compensation
  • Starting salary: $31,500.00
  • Commission-based earnings as your book of business grows
  • Developmental bonuses while you’re working toward commission levels
  • Note: Because this role focuses on long-term growth, commissions may not be realized until your first year
Benefits
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance (eligible after 90 days)
  • Paid personal, sick, and vacation time (eligible after 90 days)
  • 401(k) retirement plan (eligible after 1 year)
Who We’re Looking For
  • Hungry to learn, grow, and build something of your own
  • Coachable: open to feedback and willing to implement it
  • Disciplined with time management and daily activity
  • Comfortable making outbound calls and talking to new people
  • Resilient, self-motivated, and driven by results
  • Sales experience is a plus but not required

Why Join Us
This is not a “sit back and wait” role. It’s an opportunity for someone who wants real sales training, real responsibility, and unlimited earning potential over time.

If you’re looking for easy, this won’t be the right fit.
If you’re ready to hustle, learn, and grow, we want to meet you.
