Job description

Senior Accountant / Controller (Note: Controller would have more additional duties)


This role will support core accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and vendor/customer account management. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates professionally, and maintains strong attention to detail.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
  • Communicate professionally with customers regarding payments, past-due invoices, and account inquiries
  • Apply customer payments and securely handle confidential payment information
  • Process weekly payroll
  • Process daily vendor and customer invoices within the ERP system
  • Match purchase orders and packing slips to invoices
  • Resolve billing discrepancies with vendors and internal purchasing teams
  • Set up and maintain accurate customer and vendor profiles
  • Complete and submit vendor credit applications, W-9s, ST3 forms, and maintain Certificates of Insurance
  • Request proof of delivery for outstanding shipments
  • Process customer credit card payments and apply appropriately
  • Support the accounting team and other departments as needed


Qualifications

  • Associateโ€™s or Bachelorโ€™s degree in Accounting or related field
  • 2+ years of relevant accounting experience
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Experience with QuickBooks preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Docs
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Interest in learning the concrete manufacturing industry
