Job description

JOB SUMMARY
The Banking Specialist I position is an entry level position. Position assists in the daily operations of the branch offices including deposits, withdrawals and other financial interactions. While providing exceptional customer service to all customers. Full-time position with an average of 37.50 - 40 hours per week. Monday through Friday and rotating Saturdays.
This is a float position, going between the NVBT locations in 16 Acres, Monarch Place and West Springfield as needed with West Springfield being the home branch.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Accurately processes teller transactions, related services and procedures.
  • Sell and cross sell bank products.
  • Assist balancing and auditing responsibilities of vaults and ATMs
  • Assist in daily branch operation within scope of duties.
  • Handle currency, transactions, and confidential information in a responsible manner.
  • Maintains security of cash drawer.
  • Oversite of cash drawer between vault and teller line.
  • Assist with the organization and facilitation of branch and security meetings.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure quality and efficiency of service.
  • May assist in the training of new branch staff.
  • Adheres to established New Valley Bank and Trust customer service standards.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Skills and Experience
  • Experience in banking or cash handling experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of customer service.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time, lift up to 20lbs
  • Bending, reaching periodically
