Gaining relevant skills through online courses, internships, or entry-level positions in related fields can improve your chances. Certifications such as FAA or industry-specific finance training can also be beneficial for entry into the field.

To thrive as an Entry Level Aviation Finance professional, you need a solid background in finance or accounting, strong analytical skills, and at least a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Familiarity with financial modeling, Excel, and industry-standard accounting software is typically required, and internships or certifications such as CFA Level I can be advantageous. These abilities are crucial for accurately analyzing financial data, supporting business decisions, and ensuring compliance in the complex aviation industry.

How much do people in aviation finance make?

Entry-level aviation finance professionals typically earn between $50,000 and $70,000 annually, depending on location, education, and company size. As they gain experience and develop skills in financial analysis and aircraft leasing, salaries can increase significantly.

Entry-level professionals in aviation finance often encounter challenges such as understanding complex aircraft leasing structures, keeping up with regulatory changes, and interpreting financial data specific to the aviation industry. Adapting to industry-specific terminology and learning how to communicate effectively with both finance and technical teams can also be demanding. These challenges can be addressed by seeking mentorship from experienced colleagues, participating in industry training programs, and proactively engaging with cross-functional teams to build a well-rounded understanding of aviation finance operations.

Are there any entry-level finance jobs?

Entry-level finance jobs are available across various industries, including aviation finance, and typically require basic financial knowledge, strong analytical skills, and sometimes a relevant degree or certification. These roles often involve tasks such as data analysis, financial reporting, and supporting senior staff. How do I get into finance with no experience?
