Job Description

AECOM is hosting an exclusive, invitation-only hiring event in New York, New York October 15th and 16th.  This is a great opportunity to learn and connect with AECOM for career opportunities starting Spring/Summer 2027.

The event kicks off on Thursday evening with a networking mixer from 6-8 pm, where you can hear from AECOM staff about various projects, career paths, and the company itself. You’ll also have the chance to meet other students, recent graduates, and AECOM professionals from across our business lines.

On Friday, interviews will take place at our New York office. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about and connect with AECOM for early career opportunities.

AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Aviation Specialist to be based in New York, NY.

This position is expected to begin Spring/Summer 2027.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Building analytic and design skills.
  • Conducting aviation design under the supervision of a market sector leader.
  • Creating designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of the Department Manager.
  • Collecting and analyzing data under the supervision of the Department Manager.
  • Using computer software as a tool for solving basic design problems.
  • Performing work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.
  • Assist in tracking financials for projects and pursuits under the supervision of market sector leader.

This position will encompass certain business development duties such as:

  • Demonstrates full use and application of standard sales and business development principles, theories, concepts, and techniques.  
  • Follows established procedures, applies sound professional judgment, and approaches problems with a variety of solutions.  
  • Under direct supervision, work is reviewed for soundness of judgment.
  • Preparing proposals and presentations and participating in pre-sales activities under the supervision of market sector leader.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Planning, Construction Management or related field or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Drafting/CAD applications (MicroStation, AutoCAD Civil 3D).
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with MS Office.
