The Opportunity
The College of Business (COB) at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Worldwide (ERAU-W) is seeking an Airline Management Faculty of the Practice (FOTP) to join the COB and Department of Management (DM).
This is a remote position and will require an at home office. The successful candidate will teach graduate and undergraduate airline management courses with a specific focus on our new M.S. in Airline Management degree. The typical teaching load is 24 credit hours per academic year which extends from 1 August to 31 May. The role represents a great opportunity to work alongside dedicated colleagues committed to making a difference to the aviation industry and features key lifestyle benefits such as the opportunity to work from home, paid holidays in addition to summer release (June-July off), exceptional health benefits, generous retirement contributions and Embry-Riddle program tuition waivers for faculty and their family members.
Faculty will teach with innovative academic technologies and delivery platforms almost entirely online. Courses reside within the College of Business and have a strong business focus and apply business concepts to aviation and other industries. The successful applicant will have a strong commitment to teaching, remaining current in the profession, and service to the department, college, university, and profession. The candidate will also develop, maintain, and assess courses and curricula as needed and assigned. The faculty member must be willing to travel to attend meetings and conferences although travel is limited.
About the College of Business:
The Worldwide College of Business is a highly entrepreneurial college that offers two Associate's Degrees (Aviation Business Administration and Technical Management), five bachelor's degrees (Aviation Business Administration, Business Analytics, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Project Management and Technical Management), and nine master's degrees (Business Administration in Aviation, Airline Management, Airport and Air Mobility Management, Engineering Management, Leadership, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Management, Management Information Systems, and Project Management)
Departments in the COB are Business Administration, Decision Sciences and Analytics, and Management. The successful candidate would be assigned to the Department of Management (DM). The DM houses the Associates in Technical Management, Bachelor of Science in Technical Management, Bachelor of Science in Business Analytics, Masters in Management, Masters in Management Information Systems, Masters in Leadership, Masters in Airline Management, and Masters in Airport and Air Mobility Management. A mixture of undergraduate minors, majors, and graduate certificates are also managed by the DM.

Qualifications
Required Education and Qualifications:
  • A Master's degree (required), and/or a professional doctorate (desired), and/or a Ph.D. (desired) or an equivalent terminal degree (desired) in management, business administration, aviation, finance, accounting, or a related field from an accredited university
  • Strong industry experience in one or more areas of airline management (e.g., operations, fleet management, route planning, revenue management, sustainability, pricing, labor relations, etc.) and active industry connections.
  • Teaching experience with adult learners
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • A clearly defined teaching philosophy
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and mentor students from diverse backgrounds in a remote setting.
  • Willing to travel as necessary for the position (approximately 5-10%).
  • Experience in course design and development for online course delivery is preferred
  • Experience with online learning management systems is preferred
