The Coatings, Assembly, and Shipping Lead is responsible for supervising and coordinating daily activities across Coatings, final assembly, and shipping functions within the metal fabrication facility.

  • 1st Shift: Monday – Thursday, 6:00 am to 4:30 pm
Key Responsibilities
Production & Operations Leadership
  • Lead and oversee daily operations of coating, assembly, and shipping departments.
  • Coordinate workflow between fabrication, finishing, and final shipment to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Assign tasks, monitor progress, and adjust staffing or priorities as needed.
  • Ensure production goals, quality standards, and deadlines are consistently met.
Coatings (Finishing) Oversight
  • Supervise surface preparation, powder coating, painting, or finishing processes.
  • Ensure proper application techniques, curing processes, and material usage.
  • Monitor coating quality, thickness, adhesion, and finish consistency.
  • Maintain coating equipment and ensure proper operation and maintenance schedules.
Assembly Supervision
  • Oversee final assembly of fabricated components according to blueprints and work instructions.
  • Ensure accuracy, fit, and function of assembled products.
  • Resolve assembly issues and work with engineering or production teams when needed.
Shipping & Logistics
  • Coordinate packaging, labeling, and shipment of finished goods.
  • Verify orders for accuracy before shipment.
  • Work with logistics providers and internal teams to meet delivery schedules.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and documentation of outgoing products.
Safety & Compliance
  • Enforce safety policies, procedures, and proper use of PPE.
  • Conduct safety training and ensure team compliance with OSHA or company safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment (5S principles).
Team Leadership & Development
  • Train, mentor, and develop team members.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Continuous Improvement
  • Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements.
  • Monitor key performance metrics (throughput, scrap rates, on-time shipping).
  • Support lean manufacturing and cost-reduction initiatives.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade education preferred.
  • 2+ years experience in metal fabrication, coatings, assembly, or manufacturing.
  • 1–2 years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
