Job Title: Machine Assembler
Job Description
This role focuses on building custom machines and equipment from start to finish in a clean, well-organized manufacturing environment. You will assemble complete machines and sub-components, working from engineering drawings and schematics, and play a key role in troubleshooting and resolving mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues. Every machine is unique, offering continuous variety and the opportunity to apply and grow your technical skills.
Responsibilities
- Build complete machines and sub-components from start to finish according to engineering requirements.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics to guide assembly work.
- Assemble, install, and align mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during assembly and installation.
- Identify and troubleshoot hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical issues that arise during assembly.
- Fabricate parts as needed using machine shop equipment such as mills, lathes, and saws.
- Perform welding tasks when required to support machine building and fabrication.
- Verify that assemblies meet specifications and quality standards, making adjustments as needed.
- Assess and resolve assembly problems promptly to keep projects on schedule.
- Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Essential Skills
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics (required).
- Experience working in an industrial, manufacturing, or mechanic environment (required).
- Proficiency using hand tools and power tools for assembly and installation.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly and machine building.
- Ability to perform basic electrical work related to machine assembly and repair.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Capability to fabricate parts using mills, lathes, saws, and other machine shop equipment.
- Attention to detail and ability to verify specifications and ensure quality standards are met.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with custom machine building (preferred).
- Experience with welding processes (preferred).
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and components (preferred).
- Knowledge of pneumatic systems and components (preferred).
- Experience in general mechanic work, including repairs and adjustments (preferred).
- Experience operating a forklift in a shop or manufacturing environment (preferred).
- Completion of a 2-year technical degree or equivalent technical education (nice to have).

Work Environment
You will work in a clean, well-lit, and organized facility with approximately 30 employees across the shop and office, fostering a close-knit and collaborative atmosphere. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., providing consistent daytime hours. The environment is focused on custom machine building, using a range of tools and machine shop equipment, with an emphasis on safety, quality, and teamwork.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vadnais Heights, MN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $29.00/hr.
