As a Security Receptionist, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, Healthcare, Education, Government and more. The Security Receptionist plays a critical role in the overall security program and in the success of day-to-day operations. As first line of defense, they are tasked with making the first impression with guests, customers, and clients. As an extension of the company, the receptionist reflects a professional demeanor and appearance to optimally highlight our customer’s brand. The Security Receptionist will provide model customer service as well as favorably resolve conflict through solid communication skills. The Security Receptionist may have to deal with stressful situations requiring critical thinking abilities to de-escalate unprecedented encounters, understand social cues, and call for assistance when appropriate. Functionally, the Security Receptionist must be technically competent, computer literate, able to answer inbound/outbound calls, recognize signs of intrusion, have strong observation skills, and remain calm under pressure. The Security Receptionist has the responsibility to maintain proprietary information in confidence and politely, with maximum consideration, enforce security and safety regulations. The position requires administrative support of special events, facility operations, and security functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out safety and security procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem solving manner
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
  • Closely observe persons entering and exiting the office space to protect employees and assets
  • Ensure persons entering and exiting the office space correctly sign-in by assigning the appropriate badge and applying the approved compliance codes
  • Account for all temporary/visitor badges by immediately logging their distribution, auditing their use, and submitting a monthly inventory
  • Mitigate unwanted intruders and see that visitors are escorted at all times
  • Monitor visible and audible alarms
  • Ensure all doors are shut and in optimal condition
  • Submit a daily activity report outlining critical events, office needs, and relevant updates to the leadership team, provide essential input for documentation, bridging communication, and understanding day-to-day job functions, report salient security related incidents to the Global Security Operations Center and its leadership

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
    *A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only
  • Prior experience as a receptionist
