Job Summary
Level 1 Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTA 1) will assist the supervising instructor in CS/Computing courses by delivering workshops (labs) and providing other instructional support (67%). This will include:

• Meeting with the supervising instructor for training each week
• Leading workshops (labs)
• Grading assessed items for the course
• Providing general instructional support for CS/Computing courses, including holding office hours.
• Work in the Computing Tutoring lab

Provide other instructional support for other CS and Computing classes as needed (33%).
Required Qualifications
To be considered for a graduate assistantship at the University of West Georgia (UWG), students must meet the following criteria:

• Be fully admitted to a graduate degree program at UWG. Please note: Students admitted provisionally are not eligible for assistantship positions .
• Be enrolled full-time in a UWG graduate program during the assistantship period.
• Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 in all previous and current graduate coursework and remain in good academic standing.
• Meet eligibility requirements for employment in the United States.
• Must be currently enrolled in the M.S. in Applied Computer Science program as a full-time student.
• Must be able to be on the Carrollton campus for face-to-face instruction, office hours, and tutoring.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least one semester of completed satisfactory graduate coursework in the M.S. in Applied Computer Science program or an earned college degree in Computer Science or Computing-related field at the undergraduate level or higher.

Proposed Salary

• A monthly stipend of $1,000.00 per month
• A tuition waiver, reducing your semester rate to $25 plus mandatory fees as long as you are employed in your assistantship.

• Must be able to stand on the feet for up to 90 minutes at a time in a CS/Computing lab
