Job description

Mortenson is currently seeking a Front Desk Receptionist that is responsible for managing the main reception area of the headquarters Minneapolis office at Mortenson. Providing exceptional customer service for both internal and external customers is the primary responsibility of this individual.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the first point of contact by welcoming guests and notifying the appropriate team member of their arrival
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional reception area
  • Respond to queries from internal & external customers
  • Create guest badges
  • Manage front desk operations
    • Update and audit guest logs
    • Maintain vendor badge folders
    • Administer microphone check out logs
    • Update email distribution list
    • Upload company information using digital signage software
    • Coordinate fitness center and electronic vehicle (EV) membership requests
  • Schedule appointments, meetings, and conference rooms upon request
  • Maintain business center office supplies and equipment
  • Answer, screen, and direct incoming phone calls
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Assist with special projects and additional administrative duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent
  • A minimum of 4 years in a receptionist or customer service-oriented function
  • Prior work in an office environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and practices
  • Professional and positive attitude
  • Basic computer skills
  • Excellent phone etiquette
  • Clear telephone voice and good hearing
  • Work quickly and accurately under pressure

The base pay range for this role is $19.57 - $26.44 an hour. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%).

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson's incentive plan.
