Title: Construction Project Coordinator
Location: Aurora, IL

Sterling Engineering is looking for a Seismic Project Coordinator in Aurora, IL. This opportunity is with a rapidly growing, employee-owned company specializing in innovative wire joining and tensioning products for the commercial construction, viticulture, solar, and civil construction markets.

Job Summary
The Seismic Project Coordinator will support and coordinate multiple seismic construction projects focused primarily on MEP applications. This role will help facilitate engineering deliverables for seismic bracing delegated designs, manage project documentation, track schedules, and coordinate with sales teams, contractors, engineers, and other project stakeholders.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career candidate with a Construction Management or Mechanical Engineering degree. Candidates with 0-2 years of experience, including recent college graduates, are encouraged to apply.

Job Duties
  • Track project progress to ensure engineering deliverables and materials meet project timelines and requirements.
  • Coordinate the engineering design process and manage project milestones.
  • Process subcontracts, purchase orders, invoices, and material releases.
  • Maintain and organize construction drawings, specifications, submittals, schedules of values, and other project documentation.
  • Coordinate with internal sales teams, vendors, clients, distributors, subcontractors, and engineers.
  • Compile project status reports, milestone tracking, and other project metrics.
  • Provide technical and coordination support to clients and internal teams.
  • Work closely with customers primarily through meetings and communication from the office.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, to track and manage project information.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, or a related field preferred.
  • 0-2 years of experience in project coordination, construction administration, engineering, or a similar project support role. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and navigate commercial construction drawings and architectural/MEP specifications.
  • Foundational understanding of construction methods, materials, and workflows.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel. Candidates should be comfortable using formulas, pivot tables, and other Excel functions.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Customer-focused, collaborative, and adaptable.
  • Comfortable working in an office-based environment 100% of the time.
  • Must be willing to work onsite 5 days per week in Aurora, IL.
  • Local candidates preferred; relocation is not offered.

Schedule
  • Monday-Friday, primarily 8:30 AM-5:00 PM.
  • Some flexibility with start/end times may be available due to working with West Coast clients.
  • This is a fully onsite position in Aurora, IL. Occasional work-from-home flexibility may be available for emergencies or specific circumstances.
