Job description

Project Manager – Metal Fabrication Company


We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Architectural CAD Drafter to join our metal fabrication team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and construction documents for custom architectural metal products and structural components. The ideal candidate has experience in architectural drafting, metal fabrication processes, and coordination with engineers, project managers, and production teams.


Key Responsibilities



* Review architectural blueprints, specifications, and field measurements to ensure drawing accuracy and constructability.

* Coordinate with project managers, engineers, architects, and fabrication personnel throughout project development.

* Revise drawings based on design changes, RFIs, and production feedback.

* Prepare bills of materials and assist with material takeoffs when required.

* Ensure drawings comply with applicable building codes, fabrication standards, and company quality requirements.

* Maintain organized project documentation and drawing revisions.

* Support production and installation teams with technical drawing interpretation and clarification.

* Assist with project coordination and scheduling as needed.


Qualifications

* Proficiency in AutoCAD is a plus

* Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.

* Strong understanding of metal fabrication methods, welding symbols, materials, and shop practices.

* Knowledge of building codes and industry standards preferred.

* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

* Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

* Effective communication and teamwork skills.


Preferred Skills


* Experience with custom architectural metals and ornamental fabrication.
